The brand

A men's apparel brand built for the understated overachiever

Mack Weldon is a New York City-based men's apparel brand, providing comfort across essentials and everyday wear. Emily Schlackman, the brand's marketing manager, describes their core customer as men in their 30s to 50s who “would see themselves as the understated overachiever.”

The problem

A gap in on-site personalization, especially for offers

Mack Weldon had a specific gap in their site operations: a lack of easy personalization, especially for offers. As Emily put it, the cost was "more manual lift to tweak copy easily."

For a marketing team running a Shopify store with active promotions, that kind of friction shows up in the day-to-day: the timing for offers to be active if often very short, the promotion copy needs to be in right place at the right time, and it often needs to vary by audience or by the entry point a shopper came in through.

When every variation requires a developer, a theme update, or a workaround, the team often ends up shipping something less targeted than it wanted, or skipping the change altogether.

The team needed a way to interject offer copy and content into existing Shopify templates without touching code or standing up separate landing pages, and it needed to be reliable on product pages, where the bulk of converting traffic lands.

Why Relevant Bits

A referral from their engineering partner

As that trusted partner, agency teams are usually deep in their clients' Shopify builds and have a clear view of which third-party apps actually work inside a custom theme and which ones break things on launch day. When an agency points a brand at a personalization tool, that's a stronger signal than any review, because the agency is the team that will be on the hook if something goes sideways.

Mack Weldon’s engineering partner, Barrel, recommended Relevant Bits to them.

“Simple and low-cost pricing that impacts high-volume sessions on site.”
Emily Schlackman · Marketing Manager, Mack Weldon

Personalization at this level of traffic shouldn't require an enterprise contract or a six-month implementation timeline. Because the app lives inside the native theme editor, once Mack Weldon was up and running, the quick win was "ease of implementation in Shopify."

How they use it

Product-page offers and discount codes

Emily and her team use Relevant Bits on product pages for specific offers and discount codes. Product pages are where intent is highest and where Mack Weldon converts most of its traffic, which makes them the most expensive surface to leave generic.

The play for Mack Weldon is to interject contextual copy and content directly into Shopify templates without rebuilding the page. A product detail page can carry a different offer block based on a campaign, a referral source, or a moment in time, and the underlying template stays the same. Emily's favorite feature backs that up, since Relevant Bits allows them to "easily interject copy and content into our Shopify templates."

What's measured so far

Spreading the messaging across the site

The early returns from Mack Weldon's program are operational. What Emily named when asked about the impact so far is qualitative: Relevant Bits has helped the team in "spreading our messaging better across the site experience."

In a Shopify store, messaging consistency across pages is a real driver of conversion, and it tends to get less attention than headline tests or pricing experiments. For a team running multiple promotions a quarter, the gap between a campaign that exists on one page and a campaign that shows up on every surface a shopper actually visits is where revenue tends to leak away.

What Mack Weldon has gained first is the ability to close that gap. Offer copy and discount codes show up in the right places on product pages, in the right variations, without each placement needing its own engineering ticket.

Why this story matters for agency teams

We built Relevant Bits with Shopify-native workflows in mind, and agency referrals like this one are the kind of validation we want more of. For agency teams working with Shopify brands, the reasons to reach for it are practical:

  • It's Shopify-native without a separate editor or script injections
  • It lives in the theme editor clients already use.
  • Transparent pricing covers real client workloads, not just enterprise budgets
  • A/B testing and personalization are in the same tool.
